If you live or are visiting New York City, Roz Baron and the City.com is extending a special invite to my readers for this Friday’s fun festivities. Both myself and fellow art blogger Patty Rodriguez (Latin PattyO.com) are curating this show in hopes that you’ll enjoy the artistic atmosphere. “DE COLORES,” is the name of the show, and it’s an art showcase featuring emerging and established Latino artists from the entire Tri-State area. So, stop by, enjoy a cocktail or two, and show these incredibly talented folks some support.
TALENT. CULTURE. ARTISTRY.
Curators Patricia Rodriguez (Latin PattyO™) and Roz Baron (Roz Baron and the City.com) have conjured up over 15 New York City-based artists to participate in a group exhibit entitled, “DE COLORES.” The exhibition’s title was inspired by the song “De Colores” which is a Spanish expression meaning “in colors.” And playing into that theme of in colors, the show will highlight a multitude of colorful personalities, backgrounds, and more importantly, ethnicity. New York City serves as the backdrop as each artist conveys how their cultural upbringing and city life has influenced their work.
Our guests will have the opportunity to engage with fresh and innovative artists from different walks of life – while still appreciating and sharing the creativity of the urban street art revolution that is New York City. This exhibition also aims at getting to know “New York transplants,” people that have come to New York City from other cities, states, countries, and have adopted New York as their new home.
“DE COLORES” art show and reception is this Friday, May 24, 2013 at The Parlour located at 250 W. 86th Street, NYC. The show will run from 8PM to 11PM. For more details, you can refer to our Eventbrite page: http://decolores.eventbrite.com/.
